Making Profit on the Prophet Controversy
Posted on February 10, 2006
Well someone is cashin in on the controversy. This should be interesting. Kate at Small Dead Animals inspires an idea….how bout a wet t-shirt contest with these shirts, girls? Oh well, no wet t-shirts, but we have someone willing to model the shirt for us. Can’t wait to see the pics Pamela.

PR Web To see the latest creation from conservative t-shirt maker MetroSpy some would think the Muslim world had every right to be upset. MetroSpy’s new t-shirts depict an unflattering caricature of the prophet Mohammed with a bomb on his head. The controversial cartoon, which first ran in European newspapers, has outraged Muslims around the world because Islamic tradition forbids a graphic depiction of the Prophet Mohammed.
Many in the U.S however, are angered by the violence being displayed by extreme Islamic protesters — torching buildings, desecrating flags and in some cases even killing people. Annoyed by the violent images broadcast from the Middle East, MetroSpy decided to sell t shirts with the controversial caricature emblazoned across the front.
“We can’t let the terrorists win. We can not encourage this uncivilized behavior by caving in to their wishes,” said Nate Thomas, product manager for MetroSpy.

Speaking of exploiting this whole controversy, check out Gateway Pundit where a close decendent of Muhammad wonders what all the fuss is about.
Also get your Mohammad condoms and bongs over at My Pet Jawa
Heck, since we are talking about T-Shirts…I might as well try to pimp some of our stuff from our store.

And some from one of our blogad sponsors…I’m a proud infedel.

Aaron says, I was at this a LOT LONGER than Metrospy over here. I’m keeping the CafePress censors VERY busy and still selling well.
To many, it isn’t about profit, but about free speech. Ian has a video of Glenn Reynolds telling CNN they blew it!
Disclaimer, due to commenter…we are joking around…we do not officially endorse the use of bongs, condoms, or wet-t shirts. Regardless of our commenter’s objections to this post, we are certain they will not cut anyone’s heads off, or burn down any embassies because they are offended.

Wow. That is tacky.
The Muhammed condoms should be re-usuable so ever Muslim man can use them on each of his wives. That would certainly stir controversy.
Still no taker eh? Even dumb chicks are to clever to were such silliness.
I object to this post’s promotion of condoms and bongs. Condoms cause abortions & STDS by creating a false sense of security while turning the loving martial act of procreation into fornication. Bongs promote illegal leftist recreation and that’s just not right at all.
I also object to the sexual exploitation of women, especially when it’s for a good cause, because people promoting a good cause should know women who promote a good cause deserve better than the oggling of whoremongers.
Sheesh, not even our conservative sites can escape the corruption of sex & drugs.

Nooo, “In America”, we put them in a container, recycle them, melt them down into bubble-gum, and sell them to France.
I’ve been looking for the site but a few years back there was a t-shirt store selling “Don’ mess with Texas” shirts that were written in Arabic. They had some other good stuff in there too but my memory is a bit hazy because of all the bong loads and drunken wet t-shirts contests I’ve been involved in. (That was a joke Rev. Lighten up a bit not everything has to be so uptight.) For the record though I’m totally for wet t-shirt contests.
And of course by Don’ I meant Don’t.
Now we’re cookin’. The level of seriousness is getting appropriate for the controversy.
It would be funny except for the cowards in our government and MSM who feel their lives are just too valuable to cross radical Muslim terrorists. Its OK to free terrorists from Gitmo and jails to prey on the rest of us poor folk, but not reporters, editors, and politicians who are just far, far too valuable.
Jimmy Carter should be thankful for George W. Bush. If it weren’t for George W. Bush, Jimmy Carter would be remembered as the worst president in history.
Not only doeas Jimmy Carter rate as the worst present era American president…
He rates as the worst past President not withstanding Habitat…
Case in point trying to bring legitamcy to the Chavez election…
