Cindy sheehan Will Not Run For Senate
Posted on February 9, 2006
Hat tip: Michelle Malkin
SF Gate Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, who has criticized President Bush and other elected officials for their war support since her son was killed in Iraq, said today that she won’t run for office against U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
“I felt that putting pressure on her from the outside would be more effective than working from the inside,” said Sheehan, 48, of Berkeley during a morning press conference.
She said that if she thought it would bring the troops back home faster, she would have done it in a second. We are all disappointed she has decided not to run. She would fit in so well.

This really bites. I had SO hoped that she would run…gotta love the way the Democrats are running away from her faster than Superman now that the country is seeing how wacko she really is.
NOT that I care about Feinstein, but I think Ms. Sheehan just figured out how little support she would get in the state outside of her little band of Berkeley groupies. Woulda been fun to watch, though!
Darn. I was really hoping for some fun times. Barb — I think she would have actually gotten a LOT of support from the loons in CA — that’s why I think it would have been great!
Damn….I would have campaigned for her.
Imagine how many people I could make vote against her by telling people all about her….the truth hurts.
Okay, well that still leaves a run for President open. Remember Carol Mosely Braun and Al Sharpton running last time? We need Cindy to provide a few laughs on the campaign trail….
Yes, it would have been fun to watch Cindy run for senate. Can you imagine Chavez, Castro, and Carter campaigning for her?
If they followed the yellow brick road…..Wow, heartless, brainless, and cowardly campaign support. Gosh, we will miss all the fun. And, just imagine if Dean joined in, they could add crazy.
I’m at a loss for words. What’s the world coming to when highly qualified candidates will not run for office. Oh..does this mean my donation to her candidacy will not be refunded?
She had to decide not to run. First, in order to run, you must give speeches. You cannot do that with duct tape on your mouth.
Secondly, you must have a wardrobe that consists of something more than hooded sweat shirts, tee shirts, and jeans. Oh yes, if you win, the Senate does have a dress code.
Thirdly, you must have a platform. Bringing out the death of your heroic son is a one trick pony. It is also appalling.
Lastly, you need more votes than the people of Berkeley. I know they think they rule the country and the culture, but we still have a country here that insists on votes.
It would be fun to see her explain why she felt the death of her son was more important and deserved more coverage than Hurricane Katrina.
