Blogging Man 2007

Blogging Man
My friend Zaphriel was nice enough to invite me to be a speaker Blogging Man 2007. This will take place from October 11th through the 13th of 2007. I’m a little nervous about it, being that I’ve never really spoke in front of a lot of people. If you would like to attend, register while its still early!
This could be quite the event. They have already secured Hugh Hewitt as a keynote speaker, and are working on some other high profile names. But…they are a small grassroots effort trying to get this off the ground, and they need our help! In order to keep their sponsorship they need one more high profile blogger to sign up with them. It seems they are quite expensive. They need a little help from the blogosphere, in order to bring about a great conference that will no doubt return great help to the blogosphere. They are about $1,200 short of what they need to be able to lock in a big name that no doubt will seal the deal in selling out the event.

Every little bit helps….help em out!

Also people can help by buying Blogger sponsorships, Bronze Sponsorships, or just early registration. All of them are good deals and every little bit helps at this stage. For details on all of this goto www.bloggingman.org.

I really hope you guys can get this off the ground. Believe it or not, I believe I’d enjoy hearing Jay speak his mind on the ACLU. Any good lefty speakers lined up yet (yeah, yeah, I know; an “oxymoron”, right?)?

Here is what you do…use this method of speaking called the 3T Method:

Tell Them What You’re Going To Tell Them (Preview)

    Tell Them (Body)

Tell Them What You Just Told Them (Conclusion)

It’s the Military way of giving a presentation and its fabulous!

Also: Open your speech with a question after you have thanked everyone for the opportunity.

End your speech with a memorable statement - perhaps restate your opening question with the way you have supported it.

Do not rely on powerpoint for your speech!
Do not restate any points on a powerpoint slide (people can read)
Do make eye contact with people even if the room is big
Do not use the podium as a crutch - get your hands off of it!

I’d be glad to help you with this seminal public speaking opportunity!

An analysis on whether it was better to remove Saddam in 1991 rather than 2003.

Reno is only a 3 to 4 hour drive for me. I’ll try to make it so we can finally meet and have a beer Jay! That is of course if I can get past all your groupies.

it seems Paypal does not like it’s buttons being pressed from within a wordpress post, so anyone trying to donate will get an error page.

The best way for anyone to help is to go directly to the site (www.bloggingman.org) and buy a ticket or a sponsorship, there are many to choose from…

Or even just donate to Jay, and he can indirectly help us out.
