ACLU Wants DoD’s TALON Documents
If you aren’t familiar with the TALON program, it is the Threat and Local Observation Notice database. Apparently the Department of Defense authorized TALON to monitor a student anti-war protest at the University of California at Berkeley and Santa Cruz.
So what’s the point? The point is that the ACLU was born out of the pacifist opposition of World War I. The ACLU is opposed to any armed conflict and forms of national defense. They see the United States as the ultimate evil in the world and they go to places like the heart of liberal thought Berkeley to stir up trouble.
If there were terrorist operatives in the crowds of protesters stirring up the anti-war message, doesn’t the defense department need to know about that? And wasn’t it Berkeley which kicked military recruiters off their campus? Wouldn’t it seem prudent to know why and who is influencing this train of thought? I do.
Here is the point people. Our guys are in harms way. Our people have been savagely attacked and killed. There are innocent people around the world who are being terrorized and held captive by these thugs. And if we need to monitor anti-war protests to figure out if these same people are operating with in those protests, I say do it.
This is another example of what is wrong with the ACLU and proof that they DO NOT have the interests of Americans in mind.

Sure. Lets have the documents then.
The ACLU is an anarchist organization which sees government and religion as oppressive organizations. They do not believe that government has the right to wage wars, execute criminals or legislate morality. They also hold that religion is a private and not a public expression. The anarchist movement often allied with the communist and socialist against the capitalist. They also were and still are heavy into labor unions, which is probably where they came up with the inspiration for the Union part of their name. Anarchist often claim their movement is about “Freedom” a synonym of “Civil Liberties”.
