Committee Confirms Alito, 10-8
Hat tip: Michelle Malkin
The Judiciary Committee recommended Tuesday Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito’s confirmation to the full Senate on a 10-8 vote.
All committee Republicans voted for the nomination, saying Alito was “one of the most qualified” nominees ever. Democrats warned that he could swing the court to the right and all eight members voted against the conservative jurist’s nomination.
The Senate Democrats opposed President Bush’s pick to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O’Connor worried publicly that Alito might not be neutral if confirmed to the high court.Source

This is really great news, but is anyone at all bother that Alito is the person President Bush thought was the second most qualified for the job of Supreme Court Justice? I still sort of wish he didn’t pull Harriet Myer’s as a choice.
It will be interesting to see how the Red State Democrats in the full Senate do the math. Vote against Alito to satisfy the Kennedy’s of the Senate and the MSM, or vote for him to satisfy their constituents–which is best for ME? Notice I said nothing about voting for what they thought is right? Democrats’ brains are not wired for “right and wrong”, they are wired for “what’s best for me”. Sad thing it is.
Oh my god it’s the end of democracy! And by democracy I mean killing babies.
Round one down– one to go…
I hope it’s all over by the end of next week at the latest. We’ll see…

Let’s get this over with already! Let’s get these Senators from red states to listen to their constituents and vote to confirm Alito. It’s just a no brainer!
