Alito Brings Out The True Colors of the Democrats

Posted on January 22, 2006

Bill Karl has today’s reading assignment. Bill compares the behavior of democrats in the Bork confirmation trial to the Alito one. An excellent read.

Another must see, yet doesn’t take any reading skills is The Political Teen’s video of Glenn Reynolds, Huffigton, and Zuckman discussing Abromoff, Gore and Murtha.

There is little comparison between those in the Bork hearing and liberals today. Liberals of the past had the audacity to create the precedent of hijacking “advise and consent”. That at least took initiative and chicanery. These guys today simply regurgitate whatever liberal interest groups tell them to spew at a respected and accomplished nominee and hold up the process for the sake of being an obstruction.Bork at least had a fighting chance. Fortunately, I think Alito will be confirmed based on his qualifications, but watch out should the Senate balance tip in 2006.

    Lawfan,

That’s half true. But only because Democrats owned Congress during the Bork hearings and knew they could get away with it. As you say,”Today, these guys “simply regurgitate whatever liberal interest groups tell them to spew at a respected and accomplished nominee and hold up the process. ” But NOT because they can. It’s simply because they are now accountable to the lunitic left who’s now infusing them with Soros-like donations..

Well said. While they can’t get away with holding up the nomination as they did with Bork–Biden, Kennedy, Durbin, and Schumer, and Leahy all managed to get away with inaccurate statements regarding Alito’s superb record.
