The Brink Of War With Iran
Posted on January 14, 2006
Are we on the brink of war with Iran? Michelle Malkin thinks so. It certainly seems inevitable. Iran’s president, Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is certainly a loose cannon that refuses to listen to the International community’s warnings. And his mindset is certainly dangerous, if not down right insane. Mr. Ahmadinejad is devoutly motivated by apocalyptic religious beliefs that is driving much of his motivation.
But listen carefully to the utterances of Mr Ahmadinejad – recently described by President George W Bush as an “odd man” – and there is another dimension, a religious messianism that, some suspect, is giving the Iranian leader a dangerous sense of divine mission.
In November, the country was startled by a video showing Mr Ahmadinejad telling a cleric that he had felt the hand of God entrancing world leaders as he delivered a speech to the UN General Assembly last September.
When an aircraft crashed in Teheran last month, killing 108 people, Mr Ahmadinejad promised an investigation. But he also thanked the dead, saying: “What is important is that they have shown the way to martyrdom which we must follow.”
The most remarkable aspect of Mr Ahmadinejad’s piety is his devotion to the Hidden Imam, the Messiah-like figure of Shia Islam, and the president’s belief that his government must prepare the country for his return.Source
So, Iran’s leaders shrug off sanctions threat. I don’t know why anyone would expect them to listen to the ineffective U.N. They know the U.N. will talk themselves to death, and play the appeasing game until it is too late.
Iran doesn’t seem too worried about the U.N. at all.
Iran will not abandon its nuclear program even if the United Nations nuclear watchdog refers it to the Security Council, where it could face punitive measures, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a rare news conference on Saturday.
He insisted that Iran had the right to a peaceful nuclear program and that “no excuse could deprive the country from this right.”
Peaceful? Yeah, right.
I think it is inevitable, we will be going to war with Iran. I’m sure we will waste time trying to go through the fruitless efforts of negotiation, and the diplomatic route. If we didn’t, we would surely lose any kind of support from the world. I think it will end up a waste of time, however, and will not do any good. It will only delay the inevitable. There are several questions out there that will determine the details. How much will Israel be involved now that Sharon is on the brink of death? How much can we really trust the X-KGB agent running Russia? What leverage will China play?
Will history repeat itself in America? Will the democrats follow the same path they did in the Iraq war? Jawa Report has a prediction. In two years, remember this: They were for harsh sanctions in Iran before they were against them. Generation Why? Says: Again we have a nuclear ambitious, Islamic tyrant playing games with the United Nations. And the Democrats are acting the same way they did towards Iraq prior to the war.
I don’t think most Americans understand the gravity of this situation. Under no circumstances can we let this dangerous country obtain nukes. America needs to wake up. The democrats need to shake off the “hate Bush” stuff, and start caring about the Nation. We need to realize how serious the threat really is.
Yep, history repeating. Will it be the next World War?

Yes, its the same crap we went through when Carter was in office while the Muslim regime was crashing down Iran’s door. Dems were blinded to the danger by politics then and they are now.
I just fear that the U.S. alone, with so much of our resources being used elsewhere and all of our stomachs for war weakened with the Iraq War, will not be able to sustain a real threat and/or deterent for Iran.
At the least, this means that we need to become more idependent in our energy consumption and production NOW. Open up ANWAR, open up more of the continental shelf.
Hello!!!! You haven’t stopped the A.C.L.U yet, what’s up with that. Evil b*stards. You need to stop them!!!! : )
Oh, and yeah, we’ll be going to Iran, let’s hope before they make one of our cities an ocean of glass.
All non-muzlims should read the koran. By reading the koran, people will come to understand that islam stands for 2 things and 2 things only: 1) kill infidels; and 2) make martyrs out of muzlims by a)killing them, or b) killing yourself in the name of allah, trying to do 1) or 2)a) above.
Mr. Ahwannabemarturd wants the U.S. to make martyrs out of his entire country. He intends to provoke that with rhetoric and, if that doesn’t work, by nuking Israel.
However, anyone who thinks George W. doesn’t have a plan hasn’t been paying attention to the old poker player. He’s just not telegraphing the plan. Here’s my prediction: Israel and the U.S. stick missiles in the ears of certain nucular scientists in certain places in Iran. Radiation permeates the air for miles around making the facilities uninhabitable, kinda like those of Iraq. End of Iran’s nucular capabilities. President Ahmawhatshisface cries lies about hundreds of thousands killed and everyone treats him like Mudhammer Kadhafheehee. Lots more people will blow themselves up and kill hotel servants, bus drivers and, if they get really lucky, sports fans. But when they get to heaven, they’ll realize they can’t satisfy the virgins because they’ve made eunichs of themselves. Those marturd will be horrified to find out the virgins have voting rights in heaven and will vote those marturd thugs straight to hell.
