ACLU To Get Cameras To Watch Police (VIDEO)
Posted on January 2, 2006
One member of the St. Louis chapter of the ACLU, and one member of the St. Louis Police Dept. appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss the ACLU’s case against the local police department. The ACLU feels that the police are unfairly targeting African Americans.
SLTODAY – St. Louis police officers often say they feel as if people are looking overtheir shoulders.
That feeling isn’t likely to let up this year.
The local chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, a frequent critic of the city police, says it plans to arm residents of the city’s north side with video cameras to record officers’ dealings with the public.
The activist group says the department often mistreats and unfairly targets blacks and said it hopes the presence of cameras will act as a deterrent to police abuse and result in smoother dealings between residents and police.

It could back fire in their face if they record criminal activity and the cameras are taken and used and evidence to send the guilty idiot to jail.
My Jan 2 post also had a comment on this very subject about the ACLU and liberal thinking….
I think it was one ACLU member (a former Policeman) and one current member of the SL Police – at least that is what I think I heard.

You are correct, I made the correction.
From the same people who oppose cameras being used in other public areas to catch criminals. This truley shows what side they are on in the intrest of public safety.
