Media Bias? What Media Bias?

A new study released by UCLA shows a “quantifiable and significant bias” in news coverage that leans….LEFT!!!!!!!
Surprised? We certainly aren’t, and with the constant spin from leftists that purport a right leaning slant in media coverage getting louder everyday, this is one story that you should bookmark and spread around.
Tim Groseclose, a UCLA political scientist and the study’s lead author had this to say:
“I suspected that many media outlets would tilt to the left because surveys have shown that reporters tend to vote more Democrat than Republican, But I was surprised at just how pronounced the distinctions are. Overall, the major media outlets are quite moderate compared to members of Congress, but even so, there is a quantifiable and significant bias in that nearly all of them lean to the left.”
The results appear in the latest issue of the Quarterly Journal of Economics, which will become available in mid-December, and you can read our source article here.

My wife recently made a good and scary point. We were reading a comment by atrios about how the media is all right wing and part of GWB’s attack machine. Her comment was simple and profound. She said, to them, as far left as they are, the media probably does appear rightist. In other words, the left is so far left that the media appears to the right, and is to the right of them.
I can see that. In their attempt to appear fair and balanced, even though they are not, the left mistakes this for being right.
Jake, that is indeed one scary thought…..when you are so far left that the left leaning media appears right what then do you call yourself?

This needs a punchline. But the only thing I can think of is “lost cause.”

As for the impeachment garbage, Kerry “jokingly” said articles of impeachment should be drawn up last week.
The rope is getting shorter and the noose is getting tighter on the left.
