Diversity of opinion is good, but just as critical is the recognition that certain opinions are as stupid as the people advancing them.

You’re not inherently smart enough to think like me, but that’s not the important thing. It would be sufficient if you could avoid reaching conclusions like this one:

“If I ran that Church I’d encourage members to park on the street that this moron lives on.”

All this does is confirm that you’re an [edited]. You act like the church is legally entitled to a free act of goodwill on the part of the town.

Next time I hear of yet another child-molesting priest or whore-soliciting Baptist minister, I’m going take a dump on the nearest church lawn and throw rocks through the windows. How’s that for productive?

Reasoning with people like this is futile. Their view of the world is that if it’s Christian (now equivalent to anti-gay, anti-choice, pro-gun and pro-death in general), it’s wholly and unquestionably American and vice-versa, and they propose that any interpretation of the Constitution that denies the nonexistent “Christian heritage” of America can only arise from “judicial activism.” It would all be funny if these dingbats didn’t have the option of wobbling cross-eyed off to the polls to cast their thoughtless votes.

One thing to consider is where most ACLJ lawyers come from. There are affiliates everywhere, in every city in America. Most offer pro-bono services, and many are friggin nuts. I know a few in Wichita. It’s possible that the national organization might not even be in control of much of the litigation. It’s hard to imagine they are when cases like this one come up.

This is just stupid. If I ran that Church I’d encourage members to park on the street that this moron lives on. Of course then they’ll say that they can’t park on public streets while attending religious services because that would be starting a national church. What a load of crap.
