Bill O’Reilly Examines the Attack on Christmas (VIDEO)
Posted on November 30, 2005
Lori Lipman Brown of Secular Coalition for America and Ellis Henican a FOX News Contributor appeared on The O’Reilly Factor to discuss the Christmas tree fiasco. Brown not only thinks that Christmas trees should be called “Holiday trees”, but not that Congress should rescind Christmas as a holiday. Henican thinks that we shouldn’t publicly recognize Christmas. Neither of the two understood that the problem is that we never had this problem before, a “Christmas tree” has always been called a Christmas tree.

I heartily agree with Political Teen who makes the point relevant to the Christmas Tree and other religous debates that they missed the point on O’Reilly. I think that is the one huge issue that enables the ACLU to continue functioning. The fact that we actually engage in a debate over the constitutionality of things that have been constitutional for decades feeds them by way of the inadvertant admission that here is any issue to begin with. Not that I am for sensoring speech or dissent, but by giving their arguments consideration we actually admit that there is one. I mean there should be things in our heritage as a country that are just not subject to debate any longer. What is it the abortionists like to call Roe? “Established Law” , anyway you get the point.
O’Reilly and the rest of the Fox crew does this story every year. It their Christmas tradition.
What a blow hard.
Christ died so we can go shopping and hear people making $8 an hour tell us to have a Merry Christmas.
