Announcing The Launch Party of Open Sore Media!!
Have you heard that Open Source Media went back to their old name? They are now known as Pajamas Media again!
Argue With Sign Posts has an enjoyable article on this one. Here is a little sample.
At our swanky launch party in the Rainbow Room at New York’s Rockefeller Center on November 16, we changed out of our “pajamas” both literally and figuratively. We went from being www.pajamasmedia.com to OSM™ Media, LLC, the OSM being short for Open Source Media.
To which they respond:
Back to the “swanky party” thing. Who cares! This is the sort of thing that fuels the “jealousy/envy” meme and just infuriates me. I don’t CARE if you had a launch party in the freaking penthouse suite of Trump Towers, drinking Dom Perignon from platinum disposable champagne classes. I suppose this might be an attempt to be funny, or self-deprecating, or clever, but it just sounds vain.
But no need to worry about it so much I say! We now have what is truly an open sore media. Go on over and post something! Its open for everyone in the blogosphere to post whatever they want. Sure it will soon be run amok with crazies, but its all fun! That is what the blogosphere is truly about. Its not about taking over the advertising area of blogs, making money at it, rising in the ranks, bragging about traffic, or attending swank parties. Its not about closed little exclusive clubs. What the blogosphere is about is open communication.
