Scalia Scolds Franken

In a Q&A session witnessed by an audience of A-list celebrities, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia took Al Franken to task when the comedian and radio host challenged his ethics.
Page Six said Franken, who hosts a program on the liberal Air America network, “found out the hard way not to mess with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who chided Franken as if he were a delinquent schoolboy … .”
Franken asked “hypothetically” whether a judge should recuse himself if he had gone duck-hunting or flown in a private jet with a party in a case before his court, the Post reported.
The reference was to Scalia’s flying and hunting trip with Vice President Dick Cheney in January 2003, three weeks after the Supreme Court agreed to hear a White House appeal in a case involving private meetings of Cheney’s energy task force.
Scalia lectured Franken, “Demeanor is the wrong word. You mean ethics.”
The justice explained a judge does not have to recuse himself from a case if his friend, in an official capacity, was a nominal party in the dispute, according to Opinion Journal Editor James Taranto, who witnessed the exchange.
Evaluating Franken’s performance, Time Warner chairman Dick Parsons later told the Post: “Al was not quite ready for prime time,” an allusion to the comedian’s with NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”
Just thought this was humorous. Sounds like Franken was out of his league.

You mean HUMOROUS. Not that you can do much to truly advance this place or its aims, but you need a spell checker in the worst way.
Do you ever stop to consider the fact that Wingnut Daily is basically truth-based fiction at best? With all of your bitching about liberal bias this and lefty agendas that, I’d think you’d prefer linking to a genuine news source instead of people exactly like those at…uh, never mind.

I’m underqualified to be a typist, that’s for damned sure. But if I were running a blog instead of commenting on one you can be sure I’d proofread my entries and correct my f*ck-ups. I’m not the one trying (in vain) to build credibility.
There’s a vast difference between carelessness and ignorance, and it doesn’t take a “genious” to figure out which malady afflicts the brain trust in this place.

It seems to me that libs better come up with some credibility very quickly because as much as Bush’s approval rating has dropped, liberal popularity isn’t getting any better. No, your inability to express yourself coherently using written English is secondary to the futile quest defined by the existence of this very blog. I am tremendously amused by your declarations of liberal impotence and lack of accomplishment, given that this site is hanuted by pissant simpletons who earnestly believe that their efforts will put a stop to, or even dent, the machinations of the ACLU. I especially get a kick out of some blinky-eyed Jesus-blowing Cro-Magnon with an IQ clearly in the 80-85 range claiming with a straight face that people here are “obviously” smarter than I am. I’m not perfect, but thank Zeus that I wasn’t born and raised with the infirmities exhibited by you ‘tardfolk.
And now you can prove your arguments like any good intellect right? Because it would really show your intelligence level (zero) if you make all these claims without proving them, or at least backing them up with some reliable source. (Not that you’ve actually made any arguments, just insults) If not, then you are obviously some ignorant teenager desperate for attention. So I’ll throw you a bone: “Good job Rat Boy. You are so incredibly smart. It is the majority of Americans that oppose your ideology that are stupid.” Feel better? Or do I have to throw in a dead baby to get you to smile?
