This is another big story breaking today. An Arab-American student in Virginia has been convicted and could get life in prison. Charges include conspiracy to assassinate a President, offering support to Al-Qaeda, and conspiracy to hijack an aircraft. The enemy is amongst us sometimes.

ARAB AMERICAN STUDENT CONVICTED OF CONSPIRING TO ASSASSINATE THE PRESIDENT AND CONSPIRACY TO HIJACK AN AIRCRAFT

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — An Arab-American college student was convicted Tuesday of joining Al Qaeda and plotting to assassinate President Bush.

The federal jury rejected Ahmed Omar Abu Ali’s claim that Saudi authorities whipped and tortured him to extract a false confession.

Abu Ali, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen born to a Jordanian father and raised in Falls Church, Va., could get life in prison on charges that included conspiracy to assassinate the president, conspiracy to hijack aircraft and providing support to Al Qaeda.

His lawyers are planning on fighting a legal battle, but if these charges are true, we may have to further investigate if there are terrorists amongst us. I’ll give you updates as I get them.

“His lawyers are planning on fighting a legal battle, but if these charges are true, we may have to further investigate if there are terrorists amongst us.”

He wasn’t among us. He was arrested in saudi arabia and kept there. His lawyers argued that he should be sent to a US court. Before that case could be ruled on, the US caved and charged him on this count.

Its really a fantastically ridiculous amount of evidence they have.
