Al-Zarqawi Threatens to Kill Jordan’s King
Posted on November 18, 2005
AMMAN, Jordan (AP) – An audiotape purportedly from the head of al-Qaida in Iraq Friday threatened to kill Jordan’s King Abdullah II and bomb more hotels and tourist sites.
The speaker on the tape, identified as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, also said the group’s suicide bombers did not intend to bomb a Jordanian wedding party at an Amman hotel last week, killing about 30 people.
Al-Zarqawi said the bomber who detonated his explosives in the Radisson SAS hotel on Nov. 9 was targeting a hall where he claimed Israeli and American intelligence officials were meeting.
That bomb caused part of the roof to fall in the wedding hall.
Al-Zarqawi accused the Jordanian government of hiding casualties among Israeli and American intelligence agents, and he insisted al-Qaida in Iraq was not targeting fellow Muslims.
Interesting that Zarqawi found it necessary to state that they are not targeting Muslims, but bombs a Mosque, and threatens the King of Jordan, who happens to be…..Muslim. Perhaps Al Qaeada are not the masters of propaganda think they are.

One Response to “Al-Zarqawi Threatens to Kill Jordan’s King”

Well, despite the criticism he’s getting on the “Arab Street” for this [edited], I’m sure Zarqawi knew he could count on the BBC for support.
On NPR’s BBC News Hour – Tuesday night I think – I actually heard the interviewer ask some Jordanian Gov’t official if he wasn’t concerned that the woman bomber was being subjected to humiliation by continuous airings of her confession.
“What humiliation? She willingly confessed and agreed to go on tv…”, the official wondered.
“Well, what about her HUMAN RIGHTS – doesn’t this ruin her chance at a fair trial?”, the BBC interviewer asked.
I would’ve loved to see the Jordanian’s face at that point.
…I’d also like to ask the “Arab Street” what they think about this maniac’s human rights, huh?
Anyways, nice blog Ace. Good job. I always thought you needed your own space to thrive.
Congrats.
