Car Bomb Kills 25 in Iraq
Posted on October 29, 2005
BAQUBA, Iraq (Reuters) - A car bomb exploded in a crowded small town northeast of Baghdad on Saturday, killing at least 25 people and wounding 40 more, police sources said.
The blast hit the Shi’ite town of Howaider, which is north of the provincial capital Baquba, around sundown when people would have been breaking the Ramadan fast.
The Iraqi government and its U.S. backers are battling an insurgency with attacks blamed on a variety of groups including al Qaeda in Iraq.
Police sources said the bomb was in a pick-up truck which exploded on the small town’s main street where the mosque, the market and a coffee shop are located.
The blast came the day after a deadline for parties to register for December 15 elections that Washington is hoping will set Iraq firmly on the path to peace and democracy, two and a half years after the U.S.-led invasion.Source
Invasion? Reuters continue to report the news in its anti-American fashion. It never ceases to amaze me how the media tries to turn everything around and make it America’s fault. The sympathy for the enemy, and the way they report the news which is supposed to be factual, but instead is slanted against America makes me sick. This kind of stuff should make these sources come under fire, but sadly their influence to the thinking of many works. We see it all over the place in the minds of those on the left. This whole sympathy for the enemy, and America bashing journalism gives more reason for blogs out there to call them on it. Thats what we are here for. And we hope people are listening. Politically correctness, and down right slanted media reporting is killing the truth. Don’t allow this kind of stuff to write history.
The truth is that we are making progress in this war. Sure there will be setbacks, but lets call it like it really is. This was not some kind of “invasion”, and lets start calling these murderous monster what they are…terrorist. They are bloody terrorists, not “insurgents”, not “rebel forces”, but murdering, scum of the earth, terrorists.
Now there have been more explosions.
Near-simultaneous explosions rocked the Indian capital Saturday evening, tearing through a bus and two markets crowded with people shopping for gifts for a Hindu festival. At least 58 people were killed and dozens wounded in the blasts, which the government blamed on terrorists.
Police declared a state of emergency and closed all city markets. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh urged calm while denouncing the apparently coordinated bombings.
“India will win the battle against terrorism,” Singh said in a statement, according to top adviser Sanjaya Baru.

Wow, this site is full of gems. I like how this post’s author is so upset that the press has “sympathy for the enemy.”
I’m not sure I understand the stance here.
This article is about a car bomb that killed 25 and wounded 40 more. Are (or were) those 65 people the enemy? I thought the Iraqis were the ones we were tyring to help. And I’m not sure where in the article any sympathy was expressed for them or their killer or anybody else, but maybe I’m interpreting it wrong. Can you help me understand what part of the article is expressing sympathy for the enemy?
Is it the fact that the author used the term “invasion” to describe the US’s invasion of Iraq? How dare they!
Thanks!
Someone better notify that damned leftist organization the CIA - the use of the word invasion is out. Freakin’ sympathizers are everywhere.
Sounds a lot like refugees or evacuees.
Thank God for the ACLU. The facists now have got control of this country. I pray my fellow Americans can see through these facist and NeoCons. God bless America.
