Newborn Taken From Mother and Convicted Sex Offender

The ACLU lost a case Friday in which it was trying to help the wife of a sex offender to keep her child. Officials were monitoring her pregnancy, and felt that a child born into this situation would be a dangerous environment.
Ms. Wolfhawk had her son by c-section on Tuesday, leaving the hospital two days later against doctor’s recommendations to appear in court. On Friday she lost her case when a judge gave the boy to Schuylkill County officials.
Also as the ACLU, who is representing Ms. Wolfhawk in this case, says, “I don’t know when imminent danger to a child became you can’t have any friends we don’t like, or even any exes we don’t like. If you ever associate with someone who turns out to have engaged in child abuse then that’s it for you.” I have a very ‘slippery slope’ feeling about this case and the precedent it sets.
This case does bring up some very serious issues. It is always sad to see a baby taken away from its mother in the first days of its life. The consequences of this down the road could affect the child in many negative ways. However, this woman has chosen to remain with a known sex offender with a record of sexual abuse to children. I find it even more sad that in essense she has chosen this sick twisted pervert over her own child. I am not shocked in the least that the ACLU would want a child to grow up with a child molester posing as its father. It truly makes me sick to my stomach. Weighing the consequences out, this judge absolutely made the correct decision. I pray this child finds a family that will truly keep his best interest, and safety in mind.

just want to point out that not only did the baby’s father serve a ten year sentence as a violent sex offender in NY 20 years ago, there are some added items of interest about him. It is alleged that besides the two girls he was convicted of raping, Mr. WolfHawk had abused his daughter, who is now in her 30’s. He denied this.

It is my understanding that the mother does not live with this man, that he lives miles away with his mother.
This is a dangerous precedent. In no way have they proved iminent harm or danger to this child.

It is about time the courts did the right thing before that child
was hurt. Also the childs father’s conviction is only part of the issue thr mother is also a junkie. Now if they left that child there and ten years from now it comes out that the mother abused the child because of drugs or that the father raped that child everyone would be screaming about why did they leave that child in that house.
