Town To Pay Wiccan’s Lawyer Fees

GREAT FALLS, S.C.

The town of Great Falls plans to comply with an order to pay the lawyer of a Wiccan priestess who successfully sued the town over mentioning Jesus Christ’s name in council prayers.

The town will not appeal a court order to pay Darla Wynne’s lawyer, Herbert Buhl, about $53,000. But town attorney Michael Hemlepp said officials aren’t sure where they’ll get the money.

Hemlepp said the town can’t simply afford to write a check. The town’s annual budget is $870,000.

Buhl said he’s given the town an extension to pay without a specific deadline. But he wants his money.

Using the the politically incorrect word Jesus in a public prayer, $53,000.00!
Religious Freedom? Keep it to yourself. Have I got this right? Is that the politically correct answer?

Herbert Buhl… sounds like a name that should go on Nedd’s list of lawyers, corporations, etc that support the ACLU!

I have a great idea for a law: “You are not allowed to mention religion in court”. Period.

That way, no one could ever sue over a religious issue :) the ACLU would be out of business, as there are not enough NAMBLA cases to keep them afloat.
