Reinventing The Holidays
Posted on October 4, 2005
Angry Republican Mom is…well, she’s downright angry.
WTF? I can’t even BELIEVE what I received in my son’s backpack today. Here’s the top paragraph of the letter sent home with him today:
“Dear Parents:
RE: School Parties
This year at Central School, there will be a small change at our normal seasonal and holiday parties. Instead of a Halloween party, we will be having an Autumn party. There will be no costumes. Instead of a Christmas party, it will be a Winter party. We will have a Valentine Exchange on Valentine’s Day and instead of an Easter party, we will have a Spring party.”
Yes, its a politically correct world our children are having to grow up in. Thanks to the ACLU, and ultra-liberal activists they can no longer enjoy the spirit of the true holidays…instead they are being subjected to meaningless, generic ones.
Go read her rant! It’s a good one.

If I was a teacher they probably would fire me because I would not bend over for the ACLU I would let the children celebrate the religious holidays and then gety violent when they told me to stop.
I tried to post a comment on her site but my computer is goofed up. Jay someone should start an on line petition to send to the school principal for her.
Gee what county or city do you live in , do I dare say that even up to last year , our children have a big halloween parade at school and the parents and friends come by to watch the youngsters , anyway I havent recieved any letter like that here , I do not think the county here will stand for it , I live in a small county with I think the majority are republicans ..

“I would let the children celebrate the religious holidays and then gety violent when they told me to stop.”
Yes DETHANIEL, because getting violent will really show the children what the spirit of religious holidays is all about!
The mom writes:
“Ok, obviously they’re trying to avoid an “establishment of religion.”
…and then she provides no proof whatsoever that this has ANYTHING to do with the ACLU and claims it’s “obviously” an avoidance of religious themes.
In nearly every case of Halloween activities being cancelled, it’s due to conservative, Republican Christians complaining. In fact I can’t think of a single exception.
There is this neato site called Google.com. Go there. Type in [Christians complain halloween]. 277,000 pages come up.
That you’ve managed to ignore every one of those instances and blame this one on the ACLU absent any supporting evidence that they’ve had anything to do with this WHATSOEVER is Yet Another Testament to your world-class idiocy.
You, sir, are a f*cking moron. Sure, you’ll delete this post, but it’s the kicked dog that yelps, eh?
Here’s an amazing idea — how about contacting the school yourself and asking what happened? Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want you to be confused by the truth, but …I don’t know, maybe it would be a good idea to do more than play knee-jerk jester for the dozen or so folks who both read this site and jerk off to Ann Coulter.
Just a thought.
Destroying religion and the other traditional foundations of this country is Marxist 101.
Time to put a stop to it…
Mr. Anon, I don’t have to google to know that the ACLU perpetuates this type of political correct garbage of generalizing the holidays and destroying their fundamental meanings.
If it weren’t for the ACLU, this school wouldn’t care that it offended some wittle athiest’s sensitive feelings.
So, I never said the ACLU were involved directly in this, I just said the P.C. is crap, and it is perpetuated by groups such as the ACLU. In other words, the ACLU pushes this type of crap on schools, and so often now…the school’s have become preemtive.

Another Liberal .
“Thanks to the ACLU, and ultra-liberal activists they can no longer enjoy the spirit of the true holidays”
What liberal argues against halloween? that’s a secular holiday that gets the ire of nutjob fundamentalists.
Excuse me, “Liberal” and friends, but I’d like to interrupt your *ahem* “intelligent opinions.” What exactly is the problem with celebrating religious holidays in school? Heaven forbid (oh sorry, that’s probably offensive) that children knew about the culture and traditions of their nation. And yes, some Christians will complain about Halloween. They, however know how to do what people like you do not. They take action with regards to THEIR OWN CHILD. If a Christian feels strongly about their child not participating in Halloween, they will simply keep them out of school for the day of the party. Liberals seem to find it neccessary to make their problem everyone’s problem and do what they do best – take it to court so someone else can fight their battles for them. Grow a spine.
” Heaven forbid (oh sorry, that’s probably offensive) that children knew about the culture and traditions of their nation.”
Oy Vey.
