Jay, I appreciate your comments, and maybe I'm going a little heavy with a war analogy. So let's just call the current situation in the courts a football game, and the President just got his second draft pick. Would sports fans really be happy with picking Miers when we have Luttig, Owens, et al sitting on the sidelines warmed up and ready to go?

This is what I like about having multiple contributors...an array of opinion. I think to see this as a crisis is a little on the panic button. Let's watch the judicial process unfold, learn a little more, and then if we need to, panic!

If she passes with bipartisan support, while we learn she isn't the right person for the job, then there isn't much we can do about it.

If she isn't the right one, lets hope Congress sees this and shoots her down. Otherwise, if she is...I'm just saying lets all calm down.

I just thought of something on this, what if the President is using her nomination for cannon fodder? Think of it. Commie Reid likes her. There isn't much known about her other than she broke some gender barriers in Texas. And like Ronald Reagan (the Greatest American President)a former Democrat. Could this be a nomination to show the obstructionists for what they are? The Kennedy's and Schumers of the Senate should fear opposing this nominee.

Miers could be a candidate to spark the nuclear option and end the use of the filibuster in judicial nominations.
