I am a bit taken aback by the reaction of our fellow conservatives/republicans on this one. To be honest (and maybe I’m beign naive, but) I am going to give the prez the benefit of the doubt on this one. Brown would have been a battle, during which NOTHING else would have gotten done.

I am still foolishly hoping of rsome kind of Social Security reform (yeah I know - hold yer breath!), and would really like for things to look up in Iraq after this constitutional election.

Bottom line: She is BOUND to be more conservative than O’Connor. Not a bad trade, at the end of the day.

	Cheers!

Harriet Miers On Gun Control
Oh, this is getting more interesting all the time. I'd say some fraction of the left is lining up for a clear shot at old Harriet right now based on this, wouldn't you?The same liberties that ensure a free society

Sam, there is no doubt several who might be better suited. The point I'm making is to not panic over this until we learn more about her.

I can't help, but wonder about the nomination either, and that's why I came up with my own list of nominations of those who may be better suited for the position.
