Marriage by definition is the union between a man and woman. Hence the term “same sex” marriage is necessary to make this distinction.

This is where gay “marriage” leads. If it is not limited to its definition, than it is not limited to its definition. Marry your daughter, your cousin, two of your neighbors… why not? As long as they are consenting adults.

Polygamy is banned by the Latter Day Saint (mormonism) religion.
The members are required to obey the law. Fundamentalist polygamous mormons are excommuncated and their names removed from the membership rolls of the LDS Church.

I do believe the point you are missing is the point that the ACLU is greedy lawyers using any excuse imaginable to bleed the people financially while eliminating freedom. We are being destroyed at our own expense.

It’s like Rhett Butler told Scarlett O’Hara, there’s money to be made in the building or the destruction of a civilization.

Good find Kender. Does the left own the terms slippery slope, cuz that is what happens here. Polygamy is actually considered o.k. in several religions including Islam, Mormonism, and Hinduism….so it could be argued as a religious right.

The point however is that gay marraige opens the pandoras box. It would open the definition of marraige up to be defined by whoever wanted it to be.

We base our laws on morals, once they are struck down on the basis of individual rights it opens the door to completely tear down the moral structure they were founded on. First its gay marraige, then polygamy, then with the ACLU’s view towards child porn, and NAMBLA the next thing they will want will be the marraige of a child and adult, and after that, why can’t a brother and sister marry if they are in love that way? And so on, and so on, and so on.

I know the lefties will say the slippery slope arguement is a farce, but I don’t think it is.
