I don’t think there is a devil, so its a bit of a trick question for me. But even the catholics used to have a ‘devil’s advocate’. On the subject of citizens and others having counsel, the constitution is pretty clear.

And apparently the ACLU thinks that someone who is captured has a right to counsel, wrongly on the basis of their citizenship.

Preliminarily, we can look at the test of the constitution. Ammendment 7 says ‘in all criminal prosecutions’ and then lists among others, the right to counsel. No limitation to citizens is in the text. It clearly says all prosecutions. Which would include that of non-citizens.

Fark, why am I bothering? Go look at the cartoon again, you know the one you are commenting about? I know you can see it, otherwise you wouldn’t be talking about an American Citizen having right to legal counsel. You see the guy in the cage? the one with horns? that is what the joke is about.

We all know that American citizens have a right to legal counsel, so mark that up as one we agree on.

#4 is that of course american citizens have a right to counsel. Actually, even non-citizens would too.

I have no idea what the joke is that the ACLU thinks the devil is an american citizen. I doubt they have an opinion on that.

OK, fark, from what I can gather, you are trying to interpret the cartoon here.

I’ve come to three possible conclusions of what you are trying to say.

1. The devil is an American citizen.

2. You are comparing American citizens to the devil.

3. You absoultely have no sense of humor, or common sense.
