That means not making exceptions to our laws: even when someone is a criminal and we all think they're despicable. I'm not saying that we'd revert to the middle ages tommorrow without oversight, but it's not exactly out of the realm of possibility: they still happen in many countries today, out in the open. And those places aren't crime free either (they're certainly not places I'd like to live). What really strikes me here is that everyone is so in favor of our human rights as law abiding Americans, but doesn't really seem to care if anyone else is them unless they are American and law abiding.
